Education Programme Saves 13,000 Tonnes Of CO2 For Schools

A case study by Centrica Business Solutions has reported that 13,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions have been saved in 50 participating schools.

A national curriculum-linked education programme Generation Green (established by British Gas) created a competition in which 50 schools won up to £100,000 each. The prize was then invested in energy efficiency projects such as LED lighting and Solar in order to reduce energy and CO2 emissions.

The Generation Green programme has been used by 21,147 teachers and more than 400,000 throughout England, Scotland and Wales over the active four years.
